About this filter

REPLACED is a side-scrolling action game from SadCatStudios where profanity turns up throughout the story — in ordinary dialogue, in-game articles, and UI text. This filter is for players who want everything else about the game exactly as shipped, with the harshest language taken out: streamers who need clean audio for a text-heavy game, parents with REPLACED running where kids can hear, or anyone who just prefers calmer language on screen. It runs only on your own installed copy of a game you already own, and the download itself carries no REPLACED content — only the edit rules that re-create the changes on your machine.

The filter covers 288 English lines across 23 game files. You choose what gets censored from four independent toggles — Blasphemy (107 lines), Medium (112 lines), Strong (55 lines), and Mild (14 lines) — all four checked by default, so you can leave any group untouched if you'd rather keep it. REPLACED's on-screen text table is multi-language; the filter only ever reads and edits the English entries, and the other language versions stay byte-for-byte identical to a vanilla install. There's no audio to cover — REPLACED has no voiced dialogue.

The app runs entirely on your own machine: it reads REPLACED's own on-screen text table, matches profanity by category, and replaces matched words with same-length asterisks so layout and pacing never shift, backing up your originals before it changes anything. It was verified with a real in-game launch against REPLACED on GOG (build GUID 1d29bb41a1c84d2ca67015fe91208c3c), including a check that switching off a single category leaves the rest of the text unfiltered; Steam ownership works through the app's manual Browse option, but the Steam build hasn't been independently tested yet. The story, world, and gameplay are exactly as SadCatStudios made them — only the flagged words change, and only in the categories you pick.
