FAQ

Your questions, answered. Everything you need to know about how GameScrubber patches work.

? Is this legal?

Yes. GameScrubber patches are user-created scripts that you apply to your own legally owned game files. We do not distribute or host any copyrighted game assets. You remain in control of your game and how you use it.

? Do I need to own the game?

Yes, absolutely. The patch only modifies files from your own installed copy of the game. It will not work without the game installed. If you do not own the game yet, each patch page includes an affiliate purchase link.

? Will this break my game?

Patches are tested against the specific game version listed on each patch page. Check the "Supported Version" field before installing. Each patch page also notes exactly what was changed and what was not. Always back up your game files before applying any patch.

? Will my game still work online?

It depends on the game. Many games with online components detect file modifications and may flag your installation. We note per-patch whether online play has been tested. Keep a backup of your original files before applying any patch.

? What happens when my game updates?

A game update may overwrite the patched files. If that happens, re-apply the patch. Each patch page shows a "Last Verified" date and compatibility status. If the status shows "Outdated", re-verification is in progress — sign up for updates to be notified when it's ready.

? Are the patches really free?

Yes, always. All patches on GameScrubber are free to download and use. We are supported by optional Ko-fi donations and affiliate links (which never affect the patch itself). No accounts required.
